Fifth Australian Business Awards announces 2010 Winners

And the winner of the Environmental Sustainability award is Veolia Environmental Services (Australia) Pty Ltd

Veolia Environmental Services (Australia) Pty Ltd was recently received an Australian Business Award forEnvironmental Sustainability. Veolia Environmental Services (Australia)Pty Ltd was one of 105 Australian Business Award recipients; the awards program received a total of 1849 separate entries from 962 organisations. The Australian Business Awards are a national program honouring organisations that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries through an established series of business and product award categories.

The Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability recognises organisations that demonstrate leadership and commitment to the enhancement, preservation and protection of the environment.

Commenting on their win, Denis Gasquet, Chief Executive of Veolia Environmental Services says: "This award epitomizes the objective of positioning Veolia Environment worldwide as the reference for sustainable development. Our activities in Australia in particular being rewarded is a credit to a long standing position our group with support from local management and employees have promoted over the last years, in particular actively participating in community work such as Clean-Up Australia Dayor providing innovative environmental solutions such as the Woodlawn bioreactor combining the remediation of an old mine and the rail transport of waste from Sydney".
