Veolia Environmental Serviceshas developed an innovative physical-chemical process to remediate slightly polluted soil on site.
The process promotes soil reuse while mitigating the environmental impacts associated with transfer to certified channels and treatment. Used for renovation work prior to creating Lyon's future Place nautique neighborhood, the technique treated 70,000 metric tons of earth, which was rendered inert and recovered for use as backfill per the regulation enacted in 2006 stiffening the requirements for soil reutilization.
